Hällebäck 28/1 2023 Last dive of January

Hi and ho!

This weekend we were planning to go to Sandviken, but due to various things that occurred, we went to Hällebäck instead for diving. The weather was slightly warmer and less windy compared to the last week, but it is still cold and wintery.

Dive 1:

Depth: 29 m, Time: 50 min, Temp: 4 C

We swam out to the usual spot right in front of the second jetty of Hällebäck before we started descending as a group of 3 due to limited surface visibility. During the descent, one in our group signalled that there was an issue with their gloves, so we ascended again to the surface, where it was decided that me and my other buddy would continue with the dive, while our third person would swim back to land, as having wet gloves this time of the year is no good for diving. Well, after deciding thus, me and my buddy once again started to descend. The visibility this day was a little worse in general, but better than last week in the surface at least. We continued following the slope down and outwards, looking for various critters and things, but no king crabs this dive, and few nudibranchs too. Either way, at about 20 minutes, I signalled for us to start turning around and swim back to the starting point again. We ended the dive at 50 minutes, got up and started making ready to head back, as we decided that 1 dive this day was enough.

All in all, despite all things, it was a nice day for diving in my opinion.

So until next time! Keep on swimming!
